Drywall Repair

Drywall damage is one of the most common issues in San Diego homes — cracks from settlement, holes from door handles, water damage from plumbing leaks, and nail pops from seasonal temperature changes. Ross Painting Group repairs drywall to a paint-ready, completely invisible result that no contractor in San Diego can match.

Our drywall repair process is focused on proper surface repair, clean preparation, and a smooth final result. Whether the damage comes from everyday wear, minor cracks, dents, or holes, we repair the affected area carefully and get it ready for a seamless finish.

For the repair itself, we use a multi-coat process: mesh or paper tape set in joint compound, followed by two to three finish coats feathered to zero edge, then sanded between each coat. The result is a surface so smooth it’s indistinguishable from the surrounding wall. We then texture-match — smooth, orange peel, knockdown, skip trowel — prime with PVA drywall primer, and apply color-matched paint.

We repair drywall as a standalone service or as part of a larger interior painting project. Minimum service call applies for small standalone repairs.

We also handle plaster repair on older San Diego homes with traditional plaster walls and ceilings. Plaster repair requires a different technique than drywall — lime-based compounds, scratch and brown coats, and careful texture matching.
