Proper wood staining starts with thorough preparation: stripping old finishes, brightening the wood grain with a professional cleaner, sanding to a consistent, open-grain surface, and allowing the wood to fully dry before any product is applied. Rushing this process — as many contractors do — results in a finish that peels within a season.

We use Sherwin-Williams SuperDeck, Armstrong Clark, and Cabot exterior stain systems — all premium, penetrating oil-based products with built-in UV inhibitors and mildewcide. These are not hardware store products.
