Venetian plaster is our most requested specialty finish. Applied in multiple thin coats of lime-based plaster and burnished to a high-sheen, marble-like finish, it creates a depth and luminosity that standard paint simply cannot replicate. We use Portola Paints Roman Clay and Cal Plaster Venetian — premium, authentic materials that look and feel entirely different from the shortcuts found in hardware stores.

Color washing and glazing create softer, layered effects — perfect for adding warmth to living rooms, dining rooms, and bedrooms. These techniques involve applying a semi-transparent glaze over a base coat and manipulating it with brushes, rags, or sponges while wet to create depth and movement.
